  1. I know what you mean. I live in the midwest and I am old enough that I remember when Hot Topic became a huge deal here. It was back in 1999-2000. It was awful because there were already a couple punk and goth people in my tiny high school and then, all of a sudden, every one was walking around with blue hair and ripped up black pants and chuck taylor shoes. It was kind of frustrating and it still is. My cousin for example, has always been one of those girls who wears Hollister and American Eagle brand clothes. Then she meets this punk rock poser guy and all of a sudden she has a new wardrobe (which, of course, came from Hot Topic lol) and green streaks in her hair! I almost had a stroke.

Now, I'm not putting Hot Topic down at all. I actually like that store because you can find some neat stuff there sometimes. But I really hate when people change who they are so that they can "be cool" or whatever. If I like the way something looks I will wear it. If one day I feel like wearing black eye shadow all over my face, I will do it. But people who only do it because someone else is doing it - well, I feel sorry for them because they obviously aren't secure enough to be themselves.

  2. Those girls are sheep. Doesn't matter if they're wearing hot topic or abercrombie, if they look a certain way just to fit in and be cool, then they're posers. I'm a bit older, and I still see girls like that. I go to punk shows and see girls all punked out and they don't even listen to the bands. They just hang out in the bathroom talking about how wasted they got last night, asking what bands are even playing tonight. And they're in their late 20's!! There will always be stupid people who can't think for themselves.

  3. Well. Actually I really admire their style.

I don't think they really talk smack about the Abercrombie Hollister girls but they're just different. It's a style. Theyre not "different" than any one else. You know?

Sorry if I'm not making sense. It's just a different style than preppy Abercrombie or w/e.
