  1. well you'll be OK baton rouge is inland far enough that the storm will weaken & you will get allot of wind & rain but baton rouge is above sea level so it will not flood like new orleans does if the noise from the rain scares you ask your folks if they will buy you noise canceling headphones.

  2. last one i remember in baton rouge was andrew when i was younger they normally aren't too bad.  you should be fine if you are in a flood zone or it easily collects water then that might be a concern but u have a few days.  my parents still live there and not really preparing i am sure it will all be ok just get music or something to take your mind off it.

  3. Don't be scared.  Katrina was a MUCH stronger storm than Gustav and BR didn't even lose electricity for a whole day.  You will be fine.

Realize the news media WANTS you to be afraid.  They do that so you will watch TV and/or read the newspsper, and they can charge more for advertising.

  4. too early to tell

don't worry unless your street floods easily when it rains, you shouldn't have to worry.

by Sunday we will know where it's going

    you have two days, relax

    stop watching tv news

  5. Since you are only 13 I'm hoping that your parents are making the proper preparations.  Baton Rouge will be fine.  Just prepare for a really bad storm and not having electricity and possible no water.

  6. Baton Rouge will be ok. maybe strong winds. if you want to be safe  dont go near windows. ask your neighbors if it flood in that area. if it has a history of flooding then seek housing elsewhere during the storm. I would buy alot of water and batteries. as the water may go out and the lights as well. buy some food you dont have to cook or keep in the fridge for a few days.  other then this I am sure you will be fine in the big red.

    ok? good luck
