I JUST TOOK A TEST BUT VERY FAINT AND I THINK I LEFT IT OVER 10 MINS WHATS MY CHANCES ITS POSITIVE?

my doctor told me that there were false negatives in pregnancy tests but no false positives! Sounds like your pregnant congrats!

I can only tell you that I have taken hundreds (literally) and I have NEVER seen a negative test turn positive except for once, and I was pregnant.

With that test, I initially got a negative and I was devastated because I just knew I was pregnant-I went back a while later and it was a faint positive.  I was, indeed, pregnant.

Does the line have color to it?  If you look closely at most tests, you can see a shimmery line where the result WOULD be, even before you use it.  That line can sometimes be more prominent when wet, and harder to distinguish from just that and a positive in the blue dye tests (because a faint blue and a silver shimmer are close in appearance).  If it is a pink dye test, I think you can be more confidant that it is a positive result.

The way a test works is that the test line area is treated with a chemical that the dye will stick to if HCG (the pregnancy hormone) is present.  If HCG is not present, the chemical will repel the dye.  So, if the line has color to it, then the result is more than likely positive.  False negatives are common, false positives are nearly unheard of.

It could be that you, like I was, are just early and your hormone levels are still low.  I will withold the congratulations for now, as I know you do not want to get your hopes up, but I would definitely test again tomorrow (or later today, just do not drink a lot of fluids and hold your urine for several hours).

how  long was it before you looked at the test i no when i did mine last week i put it straight in the box and thought i will look in 5 minutes it felt like i had waited ten minutes so looked and seen my BFP but looked at the clock and only 3 Min's had passed when were doing something like that it can feel like forever but i'd say you are going to be a mummy but for peace of mind buy another and do it first thing in the morning before you have drank anything but still i think congrats hun
