I Just Heard an Ad for a Book Touting an Addiction "Cure" (MSNBC), is this a Scam?

There are several books like "How to give up smoking" ,"You can get over your anger" and institutions like "Alcoholics anonymous".

One who buys a book is  well motivated. That is half the cure. Some suggestions in the books may be of help.

Waiting to consult a psychiatrist some got better before the day of appointment.

Not entirely a scam but not totally useful.

This has to be a scam since there are no quick cures for addictions of any kind. The only one who will profit from this is the person who wrote the book. Addicted people will still have their addictions and the only thing they will lose is their money. Don't buy into quick fixes, there are none.
