I.K. Kim ready to prove mettle at Vancouver
South Korean I.K. Kim is able to give a tough time to her rivals at the coming CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, as she said that she has been working hard on her game and grabbing a victory in the current season
is her biggest goal for the year 2012.
When Kim kicked off the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012 last week, her critics thought she would not be able to record a good finish. However, the South Korean star showed at the Highland Meadows Golf Club that
she is still as agile as she was when she displayed a stunning performance at the Kraft Nabisco Championship 2012.
Kim, who is seeking to add a victory in the current season, is able to rattle rivals in Canada because she has been in high spirits since the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
The LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) star performed amazingly well at the Kraft Nabisco Championship 2012 — a major tournament — as she came close to winning the title. She moved into playoff after
fighting a nerve-jangling battle against fellow South Korean Sun Young Yoo.
Analysts said that the professional golfer is eager to grab a win. At Ohio last week, Kim looked determined to do something amazing as she recorded a good finish.
She posted an overall score of 273 to finish tied for the fifth position on the leaderboard. She gave a tough time to her nearest rivals but could not maintain the momentum in the last round.
Speaking to the media about how tough it has been for her to face rivals on the LPGA Tour, Kim said that she does not lose hope and tries to make the most of opportunities.
“You know, I'm having this opportunity, so it's great. Everybody works really hard. I've been working really hard with my game. I'm already happy seeing the progress. Tomorrow I'm just going to keep having
fun. You know, I have to play my own game,” she said at the end of the third round of Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012.
“I think I'm in a great place, not only on the golf course. I'm happy on and off the golf course. I think that's really important”.
