I.K. Kim ready to repeat 2010 performance in Mexico

South Korean I.K. Kim has said she, like most of the other LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) stars, has been doing charity work for a long time, and giving back to the sport after
winning the title at Lorena Ochoa Invitational 2010 was great.
Kim, a prominent LPGA star from South Korea, won the 2010 edition of Lorena Ochoa Invitational in an impressive style, but her clime to fame is not just a victory, she also donated her prize
money to charity.
Sharing her thoughts during her pre-tournament interview at Guadalajara Country Club on Wednesday, Kim said that she believes in giving back to what she is associated with, and donating all
her cheque to charity after the 2010 Lorena Ochoa Invitational helped her influence people off and on the course.
“I don´t really know much about charity. I just felt it was a great thing to do. On the LPGA tour there are a lot of players who are involved with charities and foundations,” said the 24-year-old.
She said that she has always liked the course and the tournament, mainly because of former world number one Lorena Ochoa—whom this event pays tribute to.
“I just you know I came on the tour when I was 18. What did I know? But I watched them up close and thought it was a great opportunity to learn from Lorena who really cares for the kids the
foundation who works really hard and I know a lot of players who do the same thing,” she added.
Kim is among a formidable roster full of all the top-ranked LPGA contenders, but the South Korean golfer is confident enough to face rivals.
Turning professional in 2006, Kim has made a name for herself on the back of three LPGA victories. Moreover, she has also grabbed one title on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
Observers said that it will not be easy for the LPGA titan to win in Mexico as the lineup is awash with several hot favourite stars such as current world number one Yani Tseng, Stacy Lewis
of America and the defending champion Catriona Matthew.
