i know i am supposed to know this but please help me out...

okay my P was on july 20th Whoopie on august 1st

when am i ovulating when and i fertile ... getting pregnant ext..

someone please just explain the whole process!!!

If you have a 28 day cycle (normal) you ovulate 14 days after the first day of your last period.  So if your period started on July 20th and you expect to get it again on August 16th (28 day cycle) you would have been ovulating and been the most fertile around the 2nd of August (give or take a day or two). If you don't have a 28 day cycle you would have to divide your number of days between periods (1st day to 1st day) days in half. Every cycle is not the same, so there is no exact science to this "calender method".

Do you normally track your menses?

If you could track at least 2 consecutive months of your periods, you can find out the average length of your cycle.  Count from the 1st day of your last menses to the 1st day of your next.  From there, you can find the average ovulation day.

For example, mines was May 24 (first day) and my next period was on June 26 (first day).  My average cycle length is 34 days and my predicted ovulation is between the July 13th - 18th. I count 14 days BACK from my next predicted period which was supposed to come July 26 or 27.

To ensure my ovulation, I used Ovulation Predictor Kits and found myself w/ an LH surge from the 15th-17th.  Your egg lives up to 12-24 hrs. Sperm lives up to 72 hrs.

There are several websites out there that can help you determine when you ovulate, when to have s*x etc.... Check them out so you can have a better understanding of how it all works. I even have read several books about conceiving.

okay so you had s*x pretty close to ovulation when you had it on August 1, you ovulate approximatly 14 days after the first day of your period. So you were ovulating on or around Aug 2. but you may even be pregnant because sperm can stay alive in you for 5 days. If you have a 28 day cycle you should get your period next on August 16, you should ovulate next on August 29.. so if you really want to get pregnant I would suggest having s*x on August 27,28,29,30,31 and Sept 1. like twice a day if you can that way you will for sure hit ovulation as it only occurs for 12-24 hours. and its so hard to pin point when exactly it will happen as everyone is different.
