  1. dont worry. you can just say that you kinda forgot and you're just reviewing...after all, it has been a year

  2. my very  first boyfriend won my heart by telling me he was a professional snowboarder (he lied). When winter hit and it was time to go (I had been boarding for years and at the time I was really good) he tried to keep his lie and just go with me anyway. I noticed right away it was his first time, he couldn't do it but he was trying so hard to hide it so he'd just fly down and crash sooooo bad, he ended the day with blood and scrapes all over him. It was so obvious he had no idea what he was doing. Looking back on that time I would have much rather had him just be honest with me, I would have liked him a lot more.

you can't hide the fact that you can't snowboard.

you either have it or don't. you may get lucky and just be really good at it but really it takes practice and patience just like anything else.

but who cares if anyone see's you. Trust me nobody is going to like you less because you can't snowboard. It's better to be honest than to try to play out a lie.

Good luck and have fun! Snowboarding is such a blast just give it some time.

  3. Keep your knees slightly bent but don't bend over to touch or drag your back hand on the snow (you will just spend the day falling if you pick up this bad habit). Make sure you are comfortable standing on your board so your knees aren't straining. (shoulder with plus an inch or two). If something doesn't feel right then adjust your stance so you are comfortable. Everyone is built differently so one guys stance is NEVER right for the next guy.

Best tip: Take your front hand and point straight down the mountain (in front of you and over the nose of the board) Now, when you want to turn frontside or backside just point where you want to go but, MAKE SURE TO TURN YOUR WHOLE UPPER BODY AT THE WAIST NOT JUST YOUR ARM AT THE SHOULDER! Your front shoulder will always steer you. This will train your whole body to move the right way so you can steer yourself. You will look a little funny holding your arm out and pointing where you want to go but it will only take a few runs to figure it out. Trust me...it works. I have been snowboarding for 20 years and have taught people with the pointing method without ever seeing them ride.

  4. Watch Brady Bunch reruns!

I think there's one where Marcia did something like this (probably about roller skating).  Anyway, she tried faking an ankle injury right before the party.

Spoiler: everyone found out she lied.

Confess you lied and you'll probably have many wanna be teachers willing to get close and show you how (to board, that is).  Good luck.

  5. You just need to learn quickly, and to do this you have to be gutsy, and not be afraid of picking up speed or turning toe side.

And like Konrad said, definately don't stay on the ground after a crash.  Beginners don't crash that hard, because they don't go that fast, so it is really annoying for people who know what they are doing to see them lying on the snow because they think they crashed really hard.

Keep your knees relaxed, don't flail your arms around, and stay relaxed.

And try to get as much practice as possible.  Ride as much as you can.

Chances are, if you are riding with your girlfriends, they probably suck anyway, as 90% of the girls on the mountain suck.

    Good luck.

  6. Tell them that you said you could ride but you did not say you could ride well.

And i doubt you'll see anyone but if you do... make another lie you already seem to know how to do that just this time don't do one that you can't get out of your self.

  7. hahahhahahaha have fun lookin dumb....................hes gonna hate u

  8. Use your hips to control yourself! Stop your board by swinging your back foot to the front and use your heels, bend your knees a little will riding, and use your back foot to steer  the direction you want to go in! And just have a hella good time! And if you run into some one tell them you said you could ride, but that you didn't say you were good at it! And that you are taking lessons to get better than you already are!

  9. Hey, sometimes we say things in haste without thinking about the impact it might have.

If you run into someone, go to them and tell them the truth.   You take the intitiative and don't wait for that shoe to drop on you.  Speak up and cover thy azz and you'll be fine.

Chances are, nobody will be there, but if they are, deal with it and keep your head up!!

  10. I'm glad that you are signed up for lessons: this is your best bet to learn quickly.  There is no way for you to "not look like a beginner" so just concentrate on learning your new skills and forget about who might see you.

If you get nabbed by someone you lies to just own up to it.  Tell you that you lied but now you are really learning how!

  11. don't flail your arms, stay loose and relaxed, don't stay on the ground long after a fall.

  12. Get on a skateboard and practice? LOL. Sounds like you may have made a mistake. But you can try on a skateboard if you can get one. It will help you learn how to balance yourself and most of the basics. Snowboarding isn't all that hard either. It's rather easy to pick up. Maybe do some research and look for beginners tips.

    Good Luck.
