YES I THINK HE MAY BEAT CALZAGHE AND I HOPE HE DOES BEAT HIM. I ALSO LIKE WHAT HE DOES OUTSIDE BOXING AND HE IS NOT A BIG HEAD.

BUT WITH JUST THE TWO TITLE FIGHTS I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY HAVE HIM RANKED AS THE 7TH BEST POUND 4 POUND FIGHTER TODAY.......I'M NOT CALLING HIM AS ITS NOT HIS PROBLEM.

THINKING OF PAST BOXERS AND LEGENDS AND WHAT THEY HAD TO GO THOUGH TO EVEN GET IN THE TOP 20.

I CANT SEE HOW HE CAN JUST JUMP IN SO FAST EVEN BEATING A POOR GARY LOCKET CAN MAKE HIM GO FROM 10th ---to-- 7th PLACE?

COTTO IS AT 6th IN THE P4P RANKS BUT HAS BEEN A CHAMPION SINCE 04 THATS 4 YEARS.

BUT THE OLDER FANS DO SEE WHAT IM SAYING?

OR HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANYONE GET AS HIGH IN THE RANKING BEFORE IN THE WAY HE HAS?

I HOPE HE DOES GO ALONG WAY AS HE IS GOOD FOR THE SPORT MAYBE THATS WHY IS RANKED AS HIGH. I THINK HE WILL GET BETTER BUT CAN NOT RANK HIM ON THAT!!!!

  1. true kelly pavlik hasn't had many big fights but he has a 90 % ko ratio he has hand speed, hes both left and right handed which explains why is jab is so powerful. He throws over 100 punches a round. He is ranked # 7 pfp according to the ring magazine. He has fallen to the canvas 4 times but has come off the canvas to ko all 4 of those opponents

His most notable wins are over edison miranda and jermain taylor neither of them had ever been stopped taylor had never lost taylor had beaten hopkins twice. pavlik stopped taylor and miranda in 7 rounds. The rematch  with taylor was more technicle but it showed that pavlik can outbox a fast elite boxer

his workrate reach and power will show hopkins wat the canvas tastes like

  2. I agree with you one hundred percent. Boxing p4p ratings today are jokes. The term p4p is given to people that have fought in more than one weight class and have proved themselves. Pavlik has only fought in one but is already ranked in the list. Yes that is a bit ridiculous. But I disagree with you judging pavlik's career already. He just won the title a year ago. He will prove himself as the years go on. But keep in mind that in one year you can't fight every big name in the division. It's only been a year, lets give him a bit more time b4 we judge him and criticize his opponents. He is only 26 and you are talking about him like he retired already. Besides he knocked out both Jermain Taylor and Edison Miranda, for only one year those are quite impressive wins.

  3. ill give u 5 names, in 27 fights hes fought winky, hopkins, joppy, spinks, auma. thats pretty solid to me and he aint even close to being done. pavlik is now in his prime and knocking out taylor is impressive knowing the top 5 guys taylor has defeated.  then miranda was a beast with huge power and destroyed him. after that beating miranda wasnt the same.locket was tune up, he took care of buisness.

hopkins is good test for pavlik. bhop is old but the man still has greta skills. if pavlik can stop him that would be very impresive since no one has ever really hurt hopkins. pavlik woud also beat joe, thats why joes is avoiding him and making jones his last fight.

  4. The question you should be asking is who should be ranked higher. When you list the fighters you will see exactly why he is number 7. He is undefeated for the first thing and has been avoided but has never backed down from anyone knocking out a lot of fighters who had never been knocked out before including Bronco McCart, Jermaine Taylor, and Edison Miranda. Actually Boxrec has him as number one but that is high - I think 7 is about right as he should be behind fighters like Manny Pacquaio, Antonio Margarito and perhaps Joe Calzaghe for now anyhow.

  5. first of all, he only made one defense of the title so far, as the taylor rematch was a non title affair.

second, the hopkins fight this october will tell us nothing.

i agree that the pound for pound ratings are subjective, and it can be argued as to whether or not he deserves to be in there.

maybe after 5 or 6 more fights, we'll all agree he should be high up there in the p4p rankings, but maybe that is the reason he's taking on b-hop, because ring magazine still have him in there.

  6. how can u say he is better than calzaghe ? , im a big pavlik fan as i think he is a good 'up and comer' to boxing, but better than calzaghe? look at the record dude, the best fighter pavlik has fought is taylor, how long has pavlik been defending his titles?, how long has calzaghe been defending his? calzaghe has defended his crown for 11 straight years, yes thats YEARS, he has destroyed every contender that came his way and he is now the best light heavy weight in the entire world also....calzaghe himself told pavlik that he wants a fight, and pavlik refused because he has to much to lose if he lost, as he is a 'up and comer'calzaghe has nothing to prove to anyone, he is 36 years old i think and undefeated in 2 weight classes that he now is the king of, he will be in the hall of fame for defending his title for a record amount of times and a record amount of years, look at both there records dude, it dont take a fecking genius to work out that calzaghe is a much much much MUCH better boxer than pavlik, in terms of everything he is doing right now and in terms of everything he has done for boxing for over a decade.

  7. Pavlik is the most underrated and unfortunate boxer that ever lived. His talent should have entice 15,000 plus people in his every fight.
