I LIVE IN MISSOURI. I FOUND A SPIDER UNDER A ROCK IN MY GARDEN. ?

IT HAD A BRIGHT BLUE ABDOMEN WITH A YELLOW AND TAN HEAD. ANY IDEAS WHAT IT IS AND IS IT POISONOUS?

  1. The only two poisonous spiders in Missouri are the Black Widow and Brown Recluse.  This does not fit the description of either of these spiders.

    From your description and this website it sounds like an orchard spider.  It is the seventh one down.  I can't find anything that says they are poisonous, but they will bite.  

  3. Maybe a brown recluse, or a violin spider, they are very poisonous.

  4. some types of wolf spiders will carry a metallic blue egg sac under their belly making it look like it is the abdomen.   Technically all spiders are poisonous to some extent, and an infected bite of any spider can cause the ulcerated wounds most think of from brown recluse bites.
