i love singing to death and people tell me that i should be on broadway, but whenever i'm auditioning for a part in the play, my voice involuntarily chokes up. i mean i'm not nervous at all while performing, like no abnormal heart rate or butterflies at all!!! i'm so happy while singing in front of people that i would pay to sing in front of thousands, but i can't audition!!! i've tried everything from closing my eyes, breathing teqniques to calm me, imagining myself on stage in stead of in front of judges, but nothing works. i've talked to sooooo many music teachers and they can't help.

is there anything i can do to cure this? please help thanks =D

  1. Practive infront of mirrors, then relatives(?).

parents, etc... Once you auditioned onced in front of live audiance. (after about 15 seconds) youll be less nervous, the 2nd time you perform itll feel alot more naturlal.

  2. practice auditioning until it's just as easy as performing on stage. take every audition possible, even if you know you have no chance of making it, because it's good experience!

  3. just think of your audition as another preformance!

because that is realy what it is!u are  preforming to these people!!

you dont need to feel intimidated!!jus flash them a big friendly smile and fake it till you make it!if u pretend to be confidant you soon will be!

  4. Practice makes perfect.  Try practing in front of people you  are already comfortable with, then try auditioning for a part you don't care about and gradually work up to trying out and then performing wher and doing what you want to be doing.

  5. Many many performers talk about this problem.  Most say that it starts to get easier just simply from doing it over and over and over.  But I think auditioning is often the worst part of the job for most performers.  Good luck to you.
