I LOST IT!?

Question

I think I left my credit card about 15 minutes ago @ 7 eleven and the sum 1 may have kept it because its not there ne more. I just reported it lost.

Are people still able to get away with using my credit card in any way after I report it lost??

Can they still my identity??

I'm sad :-(

You did the right thing........you reported it ASAP.....they closed the account and will issue a new card.........you did exactly the right thing..............don't be sad..........your too smart.........

Once you call the credit card company and report it stolen/lost you are not responsible for any charges put on the card.  Any store that accepts the card without asking for ID first is an idiot and should be responsible but more than likely the credit card company will eat the cost.

Closing the account was the right thing to do. If you're still worried about credit card thief, you can put the account on fraud alert for 90 days. Call Trans Union Fraud Dept toll free @ 1-800-680-7289. They will notify the other 2 bureaus for you at not cost. It has to be renewed every 90 days.
