So yeah, I feel totally stuck. When I am not taking classes, I miss dance, but when I take classes, I get all quiet and I just do the steps, but I don't get into the dance or the music. WHAT should I do? Should I try more classes or is there another option? I used to take ballet and jazz (but I was mostly into ballet) but now i just wanna take modern....but all the modern classes seem basicallyl ike Jazz...THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP cause I wanna get out of this rut.

  1. Focus on something that you really want to improve on. Making goals and then succeeding in them can help you work towards something and have something to look forward to.

  2. Same for me. I've figured out that I love performing, and actual choreogrphy. Probably the same for you. You may love dance, but may not like the repetitive and sometimes hard/ painful excercises you have to go through in class. Aristic dancers are different from technical dancers. Try lyrical?contemperary. Hope this helps:)

  3. I have been there and done tht. When you see things on t.v or even talk about dance your like "you know wow i really love it!" but when you get into class sometimes you just wanna run and go home. The only advice I can give you is while your in class just think about how much you love it.. and really express your emotions through your dancing...which is very easy to do in modern and ballet. And maybe your just not up to the go right now. and you know what? hey, there is absoulty nothing wrong with taking a break and coming back. You could try something like theature or acting... or try poetry or a musical instrument. there are PLENTY of other hobbies in the arts, but dance can always be your backbone! :)
