We stayed at a large hotel chain, I was in the lobby when I realized I forgot my earrings on the night stand. I went back to the room and they were gone. Housekeeping had already been in to take the linens and trash! Is the hotel liable?

  1. Look at your registration card. MOST hotel chains state that they are not legally responsible for valuables left in the room.

Talk to the front office manager and have them do what's called a "Key Audit."

A key audit will tell them anytime someone came into the room and which key they used. All of them are like snowflakes. No two are the same. So they will know who came into the room and question that person.

HOWEVER, be d**n sure you didn't just do something stupid like oh, I dunno............. LOSE THEM, because this could cost someone their job if you aren't sure.

  2. um I dont know but thats messed up
