I am 15 and soon to be 16. I want to know some good exchange programs that I can look into. I want to be sure they are safe. I only want to go for a month or two if possible? Does anyone know what exchange programs I can look into?

  1. Hi! Im an Australian on Exchange in France at the moment, and Im with a program called Rotary International, which is a really great program! Its for students aged 16 to 18 so youre the right age to be applying! Trouble is its usually a year, not just a few months. But Id definitely recommend it! And with this program there's no problems with safety, they really take care of you! And I disagree with the other answer, dont wait until you get into uni, its easier when youre younger because you stay with host families and get to spend lots of time with other exchange students the same age!

So if youre interested Go to www.rotary.org and follow the links. Or, look in your local phonebook for your local rotary clubs, most big towns have them, and ask to talk to someone there about it. Best of Luck!

  3. I'd ignore all of those 'exchange companies' if I'm honest. When you go to university, see what they've got to offer you. For example, doing a degree in Japanese or Japan Studies will certainly get you some time over there, whilst earning your degree. But even an unrelated subject will often have opportunities. For instance, I'm doing my BSc in Biology and hope to spend a term at least in Canada next year.

I used to go to Lancaster Uni, and I know they have strong links with Japanese universities, so there must be others.
