I love cats loads but my mum won't let me have one. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can persuade my mum to let me have one? If not, is there anything I can do that lets me be with cats a lot?

  1. you could try volunteer work at a vet clinic near you

you could also look up a lot of info on them, and tell her how easy they are to take care of

cats are really sweet sometimes too and she'll probably fall in love when it comes up to her purring and cuddling up against her

  2. You should work where I work, LOL We have 300+ cats at our no-kill shelter.  Since you are living under your moms roof, you have to follow her rules.  Ask her why you can't have one, she may have allergies.  She may also want to make sure you're responsible enough to own a cat since there are a lot of duties that come with owning one.  Depending on your age, you could always volunteer at a local shelter, shelters are usually ALWAYS looking for volunteers to help take care of the cats and dogs.  Good luck :)

  3. Visualize your mum gifting u a cute kitty.

If you can see it in your mind, you can have it in your life.

  4. I don't know if this answer is what your looking for but I think if you love cats that much why not try being a pet sitter for people when they leave town to go on vacation or something. or become a vet. that's the only answers I can give hope they help a Little.

  5. Aw hun, I'm sry.  Luckily my parents let me have any animal that I brought home.  My mother always said the reason she'd let me is because she knew I had a gift with animals and she wanted to encourage that.  I'm actually in school now to work with animals, so maybe you could tell her that she's not supporting your gift of your love for animals, especially if you wanna work with them when you get older.  :)  Most places you have to either be 12 or even 14 to volunteer.  I know...it sucks.  Maybe things have changed though.  When I was your age, I put up flyers all over my neighborhood to pet-sit and walk dogs.  It was awesome.  I got paid to spend time with animals.  Maybe you could try that.  Hope you get your kitty soon.  :)

  6. What are her reasons?  If it is allergies, you are out of luck.

  7. why don't you volunteer at a shelter or work as a pet sitter.  pets are a lot of work. your mom might not want the responsibility to eventually be hers. the jobs and volunteer work will show her you are in it for the long haul and can afford to feed it and take it to the vet

  8. why wont she let you have one? if its because she doesnt think your responsible you have 2 show her that you are, it really depends on why she wont let you get one. But you can always go and volunteer at a shelter, or work at 1, (if your old enough)

  9. I'm the same age. Before I got my little Cleo, my dad told me and my sister that we were irresponsible. So we made a deal that we would finish the year of school with good grades. I didn't quite make it so I had to show I was responsible by cleaning our fish tank every month. I did a lot of cleaning around the house too. Now, my dad loves Cleo. He treats her like a member of the family. Try and help out with things, like, laundry, or the dishes, or even cooking.

  10. It's pretty hard to convince someone who doesn't want a pet in the house to get one.  And even if you do, the first time something goes wrong (an accident, clawing furniture, etc.) there can be lots of tension.

You can volunteer with a local shelter to handle cats and socialize kittens.  We welcome people to come and volunteer to do that.

  11. get a free kitten from a shelter bring it home and tell ur mom it was on this side of the road

then she wil feel bad an let u keeep it unless she is a total ***** who hates cats and isnt telling u that because u love them so much and is instead just saying no

  12. i don't know how old you are  - i wouldn't advise trying to sneak one in.

most cats are not high maintenance but they do require care to keep them in good health.  have you owned any other animals that you have shared in the care of?  if you could demonstrate to your mom how responsible you would be for the kitty it might be helpful.

i suggest you check at local veterinarians or a local animal shelter to see if you can do some volunteer work. you could tell them you have a special interest in felines.

i hope some day you dream of having a kitty to call your own comes true!

  13. work at a pet store..

volunteer at your local animal shelter...

make a deal with your mom.. like getting good grades so you get a kitten show her that your responsible..

  14. you can volunteer at an animal shelter

  15. Same situation here, but diff animal. I love dogs but mum doesn't want me to have one

  16. There are so many opportunities out there!

Volunteer at a local shelter- google search "cat shelter" or "humane society" with your town name and a lot of shelters will come up.

Help a shelter set up and take down at adoption events and socialize with the cats and help adopt them out.

Foster a cat- your mom will like this because you don't keep the cat forever.  You take it in and try to adopt it out, so it doesn't live it's life at the shelter.

    Cat sit around the neighborhood.

Ask people if they need help with their cat- elderly people will appreciate this.

Good luck with your cat experiences!!!
