i need your precious help to give me examples of cameras i can buy that will take pictures of the moon AND THE TYPE OF CAMERA LENS I WOULD NEED FOR SUCH SHOTS~!!!!!

  1. you can hand hold the camera and aim it through a telescope eyepiece, that works good for full-moons as the shutter speed will eliminate camera shake.  A moon in a telescope is the same exposure as a daylite shot.  I've done sharp photos of the eclipses with a simple Canon A-series.


  2. Any camera will take a picture of the moon - your question should include what your budget is and what kind of results you want.

    If you want a pretty good picture of the moon, any digital camera on a tripod will work OK.  Make sure you turn the flash off and don't handle the camera when you take the picture.  Maybe use the self timer.

    If you want great pictures of the moon, you should invest in a good telescope with a camera mount.  My guess would be that you'll need to spend at least $1500 for an entry level telescope and camera combination.

    If you are in the US, call B&H photo in NYC.  They have great cameras and telescopes.  They will help you pick out a good setup.
