OKAY I NEED COSTUME IDEAS FOR HALLOWEEN! IDEAS THAT WON'T MAKE ME SPEND MONEY! well maybe a little bit. But i want good ideas! VERY GOOD IDEAS! Not like the ghost costume were u throw a sheet over yourself! I want very good ideas! VERY GOOD!

theres really cheap ones at party city, like 15 or less, i made a dress like the cinderalla story, that hilary duff is in, but my mom made it a long time ago, from cloth that she sowed, and we bought this mask thing and just decorated it with some fancy laces =D

I do not know how old you are, but the best idea I have found for 'not buying' the cheesy expensive costumes is a home-made pirate costume. If you look at different pictures of pirates in kids books or online you will get an idea (cut off pants, belts, sashes etc), you may find good stuff in the attic that you can cut up. You may have to buy the hat or sword. If that does not work for you, look in kids story books for ideas or something from a movie. You could also check out costume books (reference section) of the library, they have the best outfits. Other ideas: cleopatra, morticia adams, lilly monster - or other characters with a long dress.

One of my favorites is to go as a "dead cheerleader". The hardest part of the costume is to get an old cheerleaders uniform, preferably with a sweater.

Take an old football and cut it in half. Stuff one half with newspaper, paper towel, or whatever, to make it look full. Then you'll need to cut a small hole in the sweater and push the football through it, and attach the open-end with safety pins to another shirt that you'll wear underneath.

Then, coat the area around the football with fake blood.

Put white makeup on your face with dark blush, eyeshadow and lipstick to make yourself look dead.

Then, just wear the cheerleader costume! You'll have a "dead" looking face, and a football sticking out of your stomach!

If you can find the old cheerleader uniform, it's a pretty cheap costume to make, and done well, everyone will love it!
