I NEED HELP WITH ?? about son's vision and other ??

Question

My six year old son's vision went from perfect in August to Jan being 350 in his right eye to in March 475 and also these additional problems...ambloyopia ex assniometropia, hyperopia/ hypermetropia,astigmatism and optic nerve hypoplasia. In less then a month his eye sight in his right eye went from 350-475. He now stutters ALOT. Which he NEVER did before. His regular said he has severe complex issues and is mentally handicapped and needs tests to find out exactly what is goin on. None of this started till December..which he is in kindergarten and tests at a 2nd grade level. But can't seem to understand right from left or which shoe goes on the right foot.

I am completely taking by this and still trying to search for answers. Yup till December his vision was 20/20 and his left eye is perfectly fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I would push for a CT scan done immediately.  Try to get to another doctor who will be more proactive.  If things are going downhill that fast, you don't have time to spare.

I sounds like you need to educate yourself on this condition more so you can ask the questions that need to be asked.  Often doctors limit their responses because there is no clear determination as to how something started.  Additional testing is recommended for this condition however he should have discussed treatment options with you.  Below is a link I found that might help you communicate with your doctor.  I do understand how difficult this is for you.  My son was recently diagnosed with a serious eye condition and shows no symptoms yet.

DEFINITELY GET A SECOND OPINION FROM A specialist. you're doctor may be way off or your son may need to see a specialist. don't hesitate.

I don't know about the eye problem, but you can learn ways to help him as far as the stuttering.  Go to www.stutteringhelp.org to learn things you can do at home to help a child who stutters.

If he just started stuttering at the same time the eye problem showed up, you should see a neurologist as there might have been something like a mini stroke to cause this.  Any head trauma; did he fall out of a tree or something?
