  1. Whatever you do, don't enter your personal details to it. It is basically a spam trap.

You may have received a spam message from ustarmestar asking you to visit it and see pictures of you, uploaded to uStarMeStar site. You don’t recall uploading them, but curiosity and vanity get the better of you and you go to ustarmestar.com. How did they really get your name? Well, the mystery is solved as soon as you get to the site, and it asks you to enter the name of the friend who referred you. You don’t know what to do, you enter the name of a random friend - they are the next victim! Worse still, you enter your own email and password, which may allow the site to access your Myspace site or email account and send messages to all your friends.

You can see how it works, and how it cleverly draws you in, in the source article here:

The idea is that you give them your personal details, and sign up to programs that give them a comission. If you get through the whole process trying to get to your picture, all you'll get is one of a monkey (which you will be, if you do everything they ask).

THE BEST ADVICE IS STAY AWAY!

  2. I just got the same thing!! This took me awhile to find this.

"The UStarMeStar.com web site wants you to reveal your email address and password, plus say which site referred you to the My Dandy Profiles site.

The first thing you see on UStarMeStar is a message that pics have been uploaded to the site from your IP address in the last 24 hours. Then it freezes your browser until you click OK, but that’s all part of the scam.

They want you to be uncertain about what’s going on so you’ll go ahead and login. That way they can try to scam you by saying you get a “free ringtones” or “free Xbox” or something else cool that everybody wants.

Of course, that really means that you have to complete a bunch of merchant offers at the UStarMeStar website in order to get your free Xbox or other free gift.

Big problem - Even if you complete all the offers, you’ll never get the free gift.

UStarMeStar.com is a scam just like the hundreds of similar sites these spammers have used in the last two years.

The only thing that changes is the “free gift” and the money-making offers you have to sign up for.

Just avoid the site completely. There are no pics of you or anyone else on the site.

If you entered your email and password, change your password on the site that referred you to UStarMeStar.

Why? Because they’ll use a script to login as you and spam all your friends with the same message that tricked you."

  3. This website will be extremely helpful...I got the same message...it's basically a scam. Go to this explanation website for details...

I got this website from typing in "ustarmestar" into google and that was the first site that popped up. Hopefully that answers all of your questions :)
