I have my sprinklers hooked up though my faucet outside, it is next to the meter and everything, but i herd that, that cuts the pressure down a lot so i was going to take out the faucet and connect straight to the main line to the sprinklers, will this increase my pressure at all? or am i better off leaving it?

thanks

  1. The faucet itself will decrease the flow as it is restricted through the faucet.  I connected one set by teeing off before the faucet and it worked quite well for many years.

  2. I would never hook up a sprinkler directly to a faucet, you loose a faucet and will always have leaks, along with the pressure problems. Install a tee and a ISOLATION VALVE, before your sprinkler valve, because when it fails you don't want to shut all the water to your home, just to fix a sprinkler. Also check your sprinkler valve to make sure it is all the way open, it should have an adjustment k**b on it to adjust the pressure.
