  1. all -start with your local nursery.


  2. Grow Native! Do a little research to find out which plants are indiginous to your area, and you can check for the purple "GrowNative!" series of plants at your local nursery. These are good xeriscape plants (using little water other than that provided by nature except in times of drought).

  3. Ecofriendly can mean a couple of things, all plants are ecofriendly in that they are growing, living things.  If they are enviromentally friendly is different, since many plants are introduced or invasive species that crowd out native plants or alter native habitats.

    Contact a local nursery, or a local coopertive extension to find out more of what is in your area so you can find a place to start.
