I Need Celllphone Help Please!!!!?

Okay. Well i really want a new cellphone. But my contracts not up yet. =/ And to buy a new phone at regular price, is kinda outta the question. So i was wondering, People sell their old phones on ebay. Is it possible to buy a phone and then just put your chip into it and use it?

Btw, im AT&T. Please help me. I hate my phone. Lol. <3

Yes, you just switch your SIM card. You will have to buy an unlocked phone though, which means that it won&#039;t be subsidized by a carrier. Basically you will have to pay full price for the phone, so look out for the sub text &quot;with two year contract and activation.&quot; This is why I love Virgin Mobile so much despite it&#039;s short comings.

I&#039;ve gone through 4 ebay phones in the course of 8 months - I wouldn&#039;t recommend it.  There is a reason people are selling them.  They are older models that may work fine when you get them, but they are on their last leg. If you don&#039;t need to switch, I&#039;d hold off.  

And to add a note to one of the other posters;  The cell phone company will only replace it if it is insured.  If you are not paying for insurance, then the cell phone company does not have to replace it.  And some cell phone companys will charge more to replace a water damaged phone.  Don&#039;t drop your phone in the toilet unless you know what you know what you are in for - and if the cell phone company will replace it, it will not be with the phone of your choice.

Yes all you have to do i just to activate the new phone, but I recommend not using e-bay, due to the phones that I have seen come off of there.  I work inside of a cell phone store, and I have seen people with fake phones and people with phones that have been damaged some how. If you decide to do this, I hope that you find one that is good and in decent condition.

I would stick with the hated phone until IT BREAKS or SUFFERS an INEVITABLE ACCIDENT, like WATER DAMAGE, then the cell phone company will have to replace it, and may even offer a discount for the phone that you really like.  Just try to do things right ;)

As long as the phone is compatible to AT&amp;T it will work, but if it is for another service, like Verizon, it won&#039;t work.

Yes, all you need is your SIM card in order for the phone to work with your plan.
