Question:

I Need Help, I Need Opinions.?

So I used to dance for about 7 years at this great studio where I met a bunch of friends, and still are my friends. I quit about 2 years ago and now I am kind of starting to want to go back. About a week or so ago, I had a dream that I was back at the dance studio and was talking to my friends there, then one of them asked if I was going to come back and dance. I thought a moment and then said yes. After that I woke up. Also, when i am home alone or when it's just my brother and I and he is upstairs, I turn on music and dance to it.

So I am saying this because I feel that I want to go back, but there's like a big wall that I can't get past, to start dancing again. If I went back, i would only do a few classes for the year, and see whow it goes. if I was happy dancing again, i would maybe try out for performing and compete again. So please, just give me your simple and honest opinions. It would help me make a decision.

Thanks in advance.

  1. I think you should try it again.  start out slow take only a few classes and if your heart isn't in it then stop. but if you love it add on to what you are taking.

  2. I had the same Problem. I started when I ws three and then quit around 8 or 9. For Four years after that I kept trying to find something that was "right For me". It always came back to dance. So I went back four years later. But I kept Beating myself up saying that if I wouldnt have quit I would have been Amazing. But I pushed myself 10 times harder than all the other girls. Now I am teaching the girls I once danced with and I am doing really well. =) I say GO BACK!!! DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! haha Just go for it. Please. For me. =)

  3. Go for it...life is too short to miss out on something that will make you happy...if it doesn't work out - oh well...but if you didn't try you'd always regret it

  4. it sounds like you should start dancing again.

    so do it

  5. You apparently love to dance so there is no reason for you not to start again.  The "wall" is probably because you're out of practice, you don't know whether you'll be good as you once were, the fear you may not love it as much, or the fear you may not fit in (I'm alluding to your dream here).  You'll never know unless you try. As you suggested, start slow and good luck..
