Ok for a while I've noticed my increasingly desire to becom a Neuro(brain)surgeon I am going to be a sophmore next year. My freshman year in high school was alright (grade wise) I got a 3.3 but I took honors classes and should have paid more attention to my studies. So basically I thought I had no shot for college and was bullied at school, I know better now not to let that effect my future. And, I'm fully aware that there are not many women neurosurgeons in the U.S either (only 200) But the thing is I'm really good at chemistry I usually don't say this but chemistry, and Anatomy are one of the only subjects that I adore more than anything, so if I am doing a great job in my science classes and well average in my Arts, English, and language (french) do I still have a chance for pre-med at harvard, or Johns Hopkins. I know the competition is rough and I may not have the money and requirements yet, but do you think there is a chance for me, what should I do to stand out more?

I really want this more than anything, to be the first in my family to get into an ivy league, and into medicine

  1. well as my friend would say GETTER DONE and keep your eye on the goal ask God for help with all the hard work and know he has you and all your needs in his hand be strong and believe in yourself  and trust the Lord for all your  other problems .I'm proud of you for trying and give yourself some credit for that be good and be blessed and GOOD LUCK

  2. Well I can feel that excitement you feel and I know what your plans are. Theres no such thing as "not having the requirements" because if you strive for a higher grade average than a 3.3 you'd stand a great chance in getting a scholarship into Harvard or any ivy leagues. Always set your goals to the highest and aim for the best GPA. I would recommend to join a few clubs that are related to the sciences, because it really impresses people when they see all the clubs you joined, and all the experiences you've gained, therefore, you'll get a higher chance of being accepted. Good Luck.

  3. Be aggressive toward achieving your goals!

    I'm proud of you.

  4. If you're really determined, I'm pretty sure you can get there. Make sure that the next three years of high school you actually do well in all of your classes and you study your butt off! Go to Harvard or John Hopkin's websites and look at the requirements for their school and try to reach that goal.
