  1. You are probably not training hard enough...push yourself just a little bit harder in your workouts, that always seems to help me.

  2. Sorry about all the answers put in front of you. They are borderline retarded, You obviously know what your doing being that you run a 51 and don't need running strategy help. If anything is going to get you faster, it's lactic acid tolerance. The best way to build that up is to cycle or to use one of those  rowing machine's which are hard to come by. Also try doing plyometrics if you want to get your speed up.

  3. just really think about it but instead of thinking about your time think about how bad you want it as your running talk to yourself curvs are very imortant in the 400 so really dig in to them and if your using starting blocks try your best to get out of them as best as you can they will bost you alot and keep good form through your race but probaly the most important part of the 400 is your kick all you need to do is give it your all the last 100

    heres a little stragedy

start 85% then try to keep that pase on your last corner build speed then go all out PUT EVERY THING YOU HAVE ON THAT TRACK

prep yourself before the race mentaly!!!

  4. If wind is an issue, take shorter strides against it and longer strides with it. Windbreak a bit by putting your head down.

Have good energy management. Make sure you have enough energy to have a really good sprint at the last 100m.

  5. get something to motivate you?

  6. To reduce your 400 meter time try this: For the first 100 meters you shold sprint but not at your fastest. Then for the next 200 sprint a little bit faster. Then go all out and sprint the finish. Never let anyone pass you if they do sprint up to them.

  7. If you time is getting slower you may be stale.

It depends on how you feel during our races.

If you are running out of steam you need to so some stress work, if you feel like you are running your fastest and just can't go any faster then  you need to do speed work.

Get out fast, relax, float the back straight, pick it up on the curve and then run in holding what you have, since you are already running as fast as you can for the last 100, don't try to run faster it will only make you tense up and slow down.

You should come through the 200 about 2 seconds slower than your 200 race time.

The important thing is to run relaxed, you are sprinting but it is not quite your top speed, almost but not as fast as you can run.

  8. sprint everyday for as long as you can, take longer strides, and practice your take off constantly.
