I Have:

2 12" Type-R Alpine Subs

1 PDX 1000 Alpine Amp For Subs

2 165V Focal Components in The Rear

2 165 CVX Coaxial In The Front

2 Tweeters Obviously That Come W/speakrs near windshield

1 Alpine V12 MRV-F450 Amp For the 4speakers/2 Tweeters

Something Is Not Right!

The Subs are doing their job.

But My speakers seem to be slacking!

They Sound Crazy Clear but it seems

like i can't turn them up as loud as i'd like

them to go otherwise they start sounding

distorted, i don't know if the amp isn't good

if my battery needs to be changed because

it is 4 years old (but no problems w/ it)

I don't know if my amp isn't set to the right

configuration or if my amp isn't good enough?

Or does Focal just suck and i payed too much

money for them for nothing?

  1. if your lights dim then you need to upgrade the alternator (the battery only starts the car and would only help when playing the radio with the car off), the alternator is what keeps everything charged so an extra battery would just be more strain on the stock charging system

you need to double check the RMS wattage requirements of your inside speakers and make sure that the amp for them is big enough, otherwise you have your problem- they don't have the necessary wattage and when the volume is turned up they start to get distorted because the signal becomes clipped
