I Need Roommate Advice Please...?

I am a freshman at Old Domion University and I am not staying on campus because they are full and couldnt get me in the dorms or anything. I needed to be close to the school so I ended up with a roomate and I had a place to stay up until today. My roommate and I got into a fight and I refuse to stay with her. My family was like you should go ahead and stay anyway because you need to be close to your school. At first I agreed with them, but the more I think about it, I dont think I can. I honestly dont want to be around her and I dont want her in my life AT ALL. My question is should I listen to my family and just force myself to stay there until I can get into one of the dorms or should I look for a new roommate? If I were to look for a new roommate what would be the best way to go about finding one? Also school starts on the 23rd of this month do you think I have time to find a new roommate and move in with them?

*If you just so happen to be an ODU student and you need a roommate let me know*

I know I sound desperate but I AM.

  1. it's better 2 have a place of yer OWN cuz what if something comes up.... & the roomie leaves & yer stuck w/ huge bills the both of u were supposed 2 share? these bills may mound 2 more then yer income, so do yer homework & look B4 U leap. i'd NEVER had a roomie, & had always had my own place, & had been here 18 yrs. until the day i move 2 a new place outta state w/i a few yrs or less. what helps is my housing asst prog. u may wanna check yer area 4 housing asst progs that can help u according 2 yer income.

    Best Wishes!!!

  2. I think that for the time being, you should listen to your parents. Where in the world would you stay otherwise?

You should look for a new roommate, but stay where you are for the time being. Ask some kids in your classes if you're that bold, or ask some previous friends at the university if they need anyone. You can also go to your college's website forums and post something there, I'm sure your college has one. If not, then find your school's forums page or post an article in the newspaper. Best of luck
