Question:

I Need Some Construction Advice. Can You Help?

I'm building a trailer to pull behind my bike to carry people, so it needs to be light, and I need to know if I should use thin plywood wth lots of support, or thick plywood with little support. I need reasons, too, whichever is lightweight and sturdy.

  1. 3/4 plywood with less support will work just fine.

  2. If in UK forget it you will never get it passed to carry people ,study weight to axles, brakes, lighting , distance between seats, seat fixings seat belts cause you have to get a taxi licence  ..Draw detailed plans as if a motor car  then take those to your local council office and try and get their blessing to go ahead... Trust you understand some countries cars are not allowed on our roads unless or untill special mods are carried out on an imported example ..Your best bet wouldbe to follow an idea do you remember once in  the GOODIES on TV  they rode a long tandem type cycle.. play with that idea and with what ever have costings ready along with your blue print drawings .Maybe even worth also talking to your Bank Manager and attempt to get him interested ..also insurance in place This is not a toy you are talking of but risking folks lives so  you will need your business head on ,tobe taken seriously
