I want a powerful laptop to run some big programs. I am going to school for mechanical engineering and will need to put a design program such as Autocad Inventor or Solidworks. I am also a multitasker "RAM needed" and HATE slow Computers "+Ghz" i feel that since i am going to have a few things going on at once and need room to see what i am doing with the design programs a 15.4'' screen is a good compromise for function and mobility--> "College" I would want to run windows Based for two reasons; one being that i am familiar with it, and second "most Important" autodesk and solid works are designed mainly for windows. i do mess with media of course, some songs, take pics, movie editing, but nothing major at all so you do not really need to take that into consideration. Basically i need a fast powerful multitasker, that is not too huge. p.s. i was looking at alien ware which could satisfy my needs, but my budget is $2,000

O, and i don't want any crappy brands

Yes, i to think that this is Mission Impossible

My laptop that I purchased for $700 could probably do most of that with no problems. I am going to tell you something i don't tell many people. Go the DELL XPS Route. Add in 4+ GB of RAM, as well as the top graphics card and a slightly faster (2.1 or 2.2GHz processor) and you should be kicking it!
