  2. Ok how about this. Look dude this is totally a scam. I can just tell. This stuff happens so much on the internet that they do it a lot. You have just gone through a lot of stress because of the recent break up and that makes you more vulnerable to stuff like this.

But unfortunately, sometimes lessons cost us. Lessons about driving drunk. Lessons about picking the right life partner. Lessons about drugs. Lessons about saying the wrong things at the wrong time at work.

    Lessons are sometimes costly.

Bottom line maybe you can't "save him" from throwing away this money. Just remember everyone gets to live their own life and make their own mistakes. Maybe you could find a couple of other scams to show as an example but for sure you are right on this is a scam.

How about this helper... Look dude if you really have to throw away this money make sure you don't send a personal check or any information that these people could use to steal even more money from you. And once you do send the money be prepared to receive word that the situation has just gotten much worse and it's so horrible you just can't believe it but they need another thousand dollars.

True True ---- like the Budweiser commercial

Ok one more thing. If you really want to help someone, send some cash to World Vision. This organization is really helping starving people. Not by just giving them food but by helping them plant crops and dig wells and change their lives.

The call was probably really from Nigeria... an internet call using a service like Skype. The call relays through the internet and uses local phone lines in the US.

  3. dont be dumb and belive her. if that was so they so would nt let her  do any thing. tell him that she will not pay him back and just leave her alone.

  4. There was a special on primetime (or some show like it) a couple months ago.  It was kind of similar.  This woman's son went partying in mexico with his buddies for spring break.  The son told his mom he'd turn the phone off until he got to mexico and would give her a call when he got there.  The mom got a phone call from a lady claiming to work at a hospital saying her son was in a car accident in mexico.  He would die in mexico because they didn't have the necessary tools for him to survive, but if she wired tons of money, they could get a helicopter to take him to the nearest U.S. hospital.  The mom thought it was a scam, but wasn't sure.. if you heard your kid was hurt, you'd probably do anything too.  Well the girlfriend also got a call from this same woman tellin her the same details.  They asked why they had to wire money (they were suspicious) and she said it was because it was on the down low for the pilot to do the favor.  They ended up transferring the money and waiting for a phone all once he landed at the new hospital.  A couple hours later, the mom gets a call from her son.. who's partying it up in Mexico.  She freaks out and he says she doesn't know what she's talking about.  They call the hospital he was to be taken to and NOTHING.  They call back the number the lady called from, and it's disconnected.

You could tell him that story.  If I can find the broadcast online, I'll send a link.
