I got the Smith & Wesson M3000 Airsoft Shotgun today and i used the .20grams bullets and they didnt fire as good as they should. I think the gun should fire alot faster and farther. What size bullets should i use for this gun. I got it at *****. Here is the link. Who ever has this gun or knows the size bullets i should use please answer.

  1. 0.2 is the standard. Maybe look at the yahoo videos to see if it fires the same as other peoples. I believe the muzzle velocity is 325 ft/s. It looks like it should go through about 15 pieces of paper at point blank range.

  2. Simplest tune up to that gun is to unscrew the cap that holds the forearm on and pull the plastic outer barrel off the aluminum tube inner barrel.  Get yourself a drill bit that's just a bit larger than the aluminum tube and ream out the inside of the plastic barrel where the aluminum barrel fits up it.  The factory plastic outer barrel forces the aluminum inner barrel to flex and that cuts the fps and the range of that gun drastically.  You'll see what I mean just by removing the plastic outer barrel (a barrel shroud, really) and just fire it a few times with the aluminum barrel free floating.  You can almost double the range and fps.

Second tune up is to adjust the hop up setting on the right side of the receiver.  Properly adjusted, that gun can fire a .12 pellet in a perfectly flat, level line farther than you can see.  My nephew can hit styrofoam plates continually at 30 yards with it.

  3. Most Airsoft guns use 6mm balls. Try using .12 gram rounds instead - that should increase the velocity a little bit
