Is a 96 I.Q good for a fourteen year old?

I've heard that 103 or around that is a genius I.Q level but I haven't researched it.

Help much appreciated(:

  1. If a person has an I.Q. of 100, he/she will likely score between 95 and 105 on an I.Q. test. Therefore, there is not all that much difference between a score of 96 and 103. All of the people who get a 103 are likely to have a higher IQ than all of the people who get a 96. Both IQ scores are average scores. Nearly everyone falls between 90 and 110.

130 is a gifted IQ. You can do a web search on genius societies.

  2. An IQ that is plus or minus one standard deviation is considered average.  The range would be from 90 to 110.  However, with proper training, one can raise their IQ.  IQ's are anything but a perfect measure.  Hard work and tenacity are both important.

  3. 80-120 is "normal"

    Genuis is above 140.

  4. 130 and above is genius.  Anything below 100 is considered to be sub-par.  Don't worry though... it doesn't have a whole lot of meaning.

  5. You are average.

This is the list of Intelligence Interval and Cognitive Designation:

40 - 54   Severely challenged (Less than 1% of test takers)

    55 - 69 Challenged (2.3% of test takers)

    70 - 84 Below average

    85 - 114 Average (68% of test takers)

    115 - 129 Above average

    130 - 144 Gifted (2.3% of test takers)

145 - 159 Genius (Less than 1% of test takers)

    160 - 175 Extraordinary genius

  6. 100 is considered the "normal" and + or - 10 points is within normal range, so you're good  -  "genius" is 130, not 103!
