  1. Go see your guidance counselor--- he/she should have some personality tests you can take to see what kind of jobs you might like or be good at.

Do not worry, I did not decide what I wanted to do until I was a junior in college. I also changed my major 5 times before that. It's okay to not know. Many people don't at your age and those who do will probably change their mind some time in their college career. I think it's something like 75% of college students change their major at least once.

Don't stress out about it, you'll find something along the way. Good luck.

  2. You should take an aptitude test. :)

  3. LOL. Hey you can relax. Give it a couple of years, I bet most of your friends will have changed their minds anyway. You're deciding on what you want to do for the REST OF YOUR LIFE!.. so no need to rush.

Yea it's no easy task for most, it's the goal of every human being. How to decide? Balance what you like and enjoy, with what you're naturally good at or capable of. These two factors kind of intertwine. If you do something you're not very good at all your life, you won't be very happy

    and vice versa.

There are personality tests out there, but they're very general, and may even confuse you some more. I feel they usually tell you the things you already know, but may not confront. And if you wanna get REAL specific, I'd recommend looking up the Occupation Handbook, for a straight-up description of all current careers.

If you have an inkling of idea as far a major, go for it, you can always change it later on. And going undecided is not too terrible either.

  4. 1. Your friends will probably change their mind at least once, if not more, by the time they actually get to college.

    2. There is nothing wrong with being undecided, most people are even if they have "declared" a major.

    3. In your first couple of years in college you're going to be mostly taking general education courses that you need no matter what you study so it's not like having a major helps you at all with that.

  5. I'd suggest listing hobbies and interests, then trying to find related fields of study.  Perhaps you excel at certain subjects.  Pick a few things you might want to do and do some research.  Collegeboard website is great as is princetonreview

  6. The average college student changes their major 4-5 times. Most of your friends will to. That's why when you get to college you take your GE classes and feel out what you like. What you like now at 17-18 is probably not what you will like whenyour 20-21. Don't worry about it. I change myself about 3 times. Never had any issues. Just go and be happy.
