Okay, I'm 14 and i guess you can say I have always had sensitive skin. But recently, I have been getting a lot of pimples and breakouts. I've tried a lot of stuff over the years, but it tends to only help for a little amount of time. I've used neutrogena oil-free acne wash, clean and clear, Clearasil, etc. They all just seem to make my face more shiny, which reveals more of the breakouts and pimples. I also get ALOT of blackheads around my nose, on my chin, and forehead. Plus, when I get my eyebrows waxed, my skin gets more sensitive and red. I also get a few pimples right before I get my period too. But don't get me wrong, i dont have like severe acne covering my face, but i just want to get this cleared up.

HELP!!

  1. Since you have sensitive skin, I recommend using a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil to wash your face. Also, the most important thing you can do for your skin is moisturize - start using an oil-free moisturizer. After using somewhat harsh cleansers like Neutrogena oil-free acne wash, it takes about eight hours for your skin to replenish its natural moisture. Your oil glands become over-active during this time and that's what makes your skin shiny after using this product (without following with moisturizer).

So, in conclusion, use Cetaphil morning and night to cleanse, followed by a light oil-free moisturizer, and then a spot treatment on individual pimples (neutrogena and clearasil make these, but EndZit and On a Clear Day by Philosophy are also excellent products). The week before your period it wouldn't hurt to use the Neutrogena acne wash, just make sure you moisturize! This step may seem counterintuitive, but I cannot stress it enough.

  2. The best thing to do is use this product till your face clears up;

Then try to stop using soaps entirely. Just use warm water and a soft washcloth to gently scrub your face. After your face has a chance to balance itself you will not need tons of products or creams. If you have a monthly breakout use the Clean and Clear for the week only. Good luck!!

  3. That. Is. Puberty. UGGG.

The face washes won't always work against the wrath of puberty. But keep using them. It takes a while to start working effectively.

You could always ask a doctor, if you're really uncomfortable.

  4. I know The brand "equate" wouldn't be your best answer!

but baout a month ago i had the same problem for like.. FOREVER. but then i finally got Equate Acne wash "it's in a orange bottle, sorta looks like a hand sop conainter"

and then after i wash with that. i got the equate medicated acne gel extra strength!

    Believe me! it works GREAT!

    ahh i love it!

    and it's super cheap too..

5 dollars for each i think?

oh and since the gel stuff sorta make your face a little dryy.. you try clean and clear oil free dual acting moisturizer!

Omg! you'll have clear skin in noo time!

it started working for me in the first 2 days!

  5. try using this it is prescribed by your doctor though its called

    tretinoin Cream,USP

i use it my skin started to clear up the next day after i used it they didn't go away the next day but they went from red and irritated to a light pink and now a week or two later i have clear skin what you do is put it on at night where ever the acne is and thats it oh and wash your face befor putting it on

  6. those oil free, sebum regulating and similar products never worked for me and made my skin fight it - it became more oily and more prone to pimples. after years of struggle, i found out that aloe vera helps most and also washing my face in sage tea few times a day.
