I REALLY need your help!!!?

Hi. I am preparing for the next cross country season by performing base training (increasing mileage). I am also doing football next year, so I have to prepare for that one as well. I was wondering if I could add some short speed drills such as 4x100m in the morning of my base training workouts to gain speed for football. The base training will only help my endurance, but my speed will be left unaffected. Also, can I perform plyometrics? If so, when should I perform them? I know that none of this is too much as there is a summer conditioning program held by my high school that does a lot more than that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
