  1. don't get a pet

  2. ok, parents are hard to convince. with my cunning 14 year old abilities, i was able to convince my parents that they make great pets. I do chores on a regular basis, get paid, have the space and yet they still said no. so, what i did was do EVERYTHING that your parents ask and even what they don't ask. then i had to print out a lot of reasearch and give it to them. then i showed them that i really wanted one by doing more and more and more. so - super search and inform, work, and don't for get to throw in things like, "hey, i have the extra room and it would be out of your hair."

i think that may be another one of your problems. as long as the turtle didn't die of neglect. that may set you back though.

  3. take her to the pet store and show her the hamsters. then have her compare them to the rats. she'll see the difference. tell her you will clean the cage properly all the time and therefore it will not smell, and if you keep them in your room she will not hear or smell it so no worries there.

  4. a hamster is a great choice(i raise them). they are very inexpensive, and behave nothing like rats. you can only keep one per cage. if you want any help or advice, don't sweat the small stuff go to:

  5. they do smell.  even if you are really tidy, it's like a cat or ferret- they have glands that cause odor in their urine.  and she will hear the hamster- as it runs on its wheel all night long.  why did the turtle die?  you have enough pets already- let it go

  6. My sister waited as long as you did for hamsters. She finally got them a couple months ago, and probably spent $100 on food and toys and a whole bunch of c**p. I think you should get parakeets or cockatiel birds because they are much more loveable and I think your mom might like them better. Try that

  7. Seems to me you already have your hands full with a dog, a fish, and house work.

A hamster, well, isn't that much work. But you should be able to hold it everyday.

Your parents are probably thinking about the cost of adding another animal more than the smell. Remember they know best.

Give it time, and I'm sure they'll come around.

  8. Hamsters do stink, I will admit that, but if you clean out just the soiled bedding everyday, that will get rid of the smell. My hamster herself, doesn't stink unless she just went. She usually takes care of her smell and that will help minimized the smell total. Clean out just the soiled bedding...it will help. Also, if your Mammy is afraid of them, keep it in your room at all times. Unless yu are just cleaning the cage.

    Hope this helps!

  9. that is the same with me! My mum thinks the exact same! I think you should discuss the issue with her and agree on if you do  get a hamster, where it would be, and all the stuff included.Just try to make a reasonable offer and hopefully you will get what you want, but dont nag to much otherwise your mum will be more angry!  Make sure your mum agrees with the idea but don't try too hard let your mum think about it. Otherwise is she still disagrees be happy with the animals you have, it's already a big responsibility! I hope you will find it useful as i have the same problem

  10. i was about to say you should gte a hamster because they DON'T SMELL and are not like rats BUT YOU HAV A DOG!!!! no way can a hamster compare to a dog. i think you are just bored of your dog and are too ignorant to realise how lucky you are! I would love a dog but my parents can't afford it yet, so there you go. don't get a hamster ok?

  11. ok heres what ya do- you do everything ur parents ask you to do, spent LOTS of time at the pet store,make LOADS of promises, keep ur grades up- and last but DEFINATELY not least... ignore all these people telling you not to get one -_-;;;;;;;;;

  12. yeah man don't get 1..

usually you'd want the whole family to like or at least accept it..

    I'm 13 and breed hamsters..

and my mom likes em.. that helps alot

[oh and just a tip improve your grammar PLEASE]
