We're nearly 14. My sister is EXTREMELY popular. She has SO many friends on Myspace. Everyone in our school knows her. She hangs out with all the other popular people and all the girls are jealous of her. Including me. She gets invited to all the coolest parties and every weekend she's sleeping over at someone's house, or going shopping with someone, or whatever. Once she accidentally left her phone at home. It was so annoying because I was trying to watch TV and it kept buzzing every 2 minutes. When I finally found it, I decided to check how many messages she'd gotten that morning. 43 messages and 12 missed calls. That's insane ! But i'm jealous. Extremely. I have like one friend and she can't message me because she's not allowed to get a phone until she's 18 and she's not allowed to sleep over or go out shopping (with me). I have no other friends because i'm really shy. I can't talk to people like my sister. I get really nervous & I start blushing like crazy. I REALLY want friends!

  1. Awww it's hard when you have to deal with this at school, but you have it at home as well.

Being popular is really overrated. Your sister probably gets very little time to herself. I think you should talk to her about this. She might be able to offer you some good advice and spend more time with you.

When you're in the hall way at school, just smile at people. They'll think you're really nice, friendly and caring. Give people compliments, tell someone their hair looks nice or you like their skirt. It'll make their day and people will think you're really friendly.

I get nervous as well, but I don't think it's visible. I stop and think about what I'm going to say, take deep breathes and try not to get nervous in situations.

    Good luck!
