  1. don't drive it

  2. Follow the manufacturer's reccomended maintenance schedule found in your owner's manual. If you do not have an owner's manual, purchase one from a local salvage yard or off ebay. I have purchased two or three of ebay over the years and have no regrets of doing so.

  3. the very best maintenance schedule you can get will be in the owners manual, they actually give all the times when everything should be done on one,and if you follow it you will get the best service from any vehicle, the factory spent a lot of time and money printing those manuals, and the information in them it the most accurate that there is,good luck.

  4. No1 be sure to change the fuel filter at least once a yr.

No2 Make sure you change and check the oil on a regular basis, change my oil ever 2,500 kms or so.

No3 make sure your tire pressure is correct for the different seasons and type of tire you have.

No4 have the wheels balanced and rotated once a yr.

No5 have a friend end alignment done ever 15 to 20 thousand miles or once a yr.

No6 make sure you check the antifreeze with a antifreeze tester once a yr or more and never mix it more then 50/50.

No7 lube the front end and door hidges etc at least once or twice a yr.

No8 be sure to check or replace sparkplug wires once a yr and make sure you clean regap or replace sparkplugs at same time , plus clean the ignition coil contacts and change pcv valve when required.I change mine ever 150,000 kms or when i first get the vehicle and about every 4 to 5 yrs afterwards or when they are found to be faulty, but test the pvc valve at least once a yr for sure.

No9 clean all the contacts on the battery , starter , alternator , sensors , engine ground , all grounds with fine sandpaper , assorted wire brushes and a file.

No10 have the vehicles brakes checked at least once a yr and  keep them properly maintained.

No11 check the belts to see if their loose and for wear and tear and check the pulleys for any leaks or play , plus check to see if pulley is wobbling or belt is jumping.

No12 make sure the transmission fluid is up properly by checking it once a month and replace transmission filter and fluid after first 150,000 kms or so and every 50,000 adfterwards.

No13 flush the rad at 150,000 kms and every 50,000 afterwards

No14 change the axel fluids etc as recommended by manufacture.

No15 whatever the factory recommended oil change period of time or mileage is do it in half that time, plus do the same for the rest of their recommendations or at least have them checked over.

No16 if you live is a cold or possible hot or moist climate and park outside then have vehicle undercoated yrly especially if snowy climates and you park it outside.

No17 always take care of any minor rust spots etc as soon as possible.

No18 be sure you change timing belt or chains every 150,000 kms and about 50,000 afterwards.

No19 make sure you check all hoses for cracks wear , softness, leaks and check under the car for any leaks on a regular bassis.

No 20 baby your vehicle when driving it and just make sure you don't abuse it bec that alone helps a great deal too.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way its best to use owners manuals and also read service manuals and the list of suggestions I outlined are basically what I'd recommend for any model or make or type of vehicle. Also always make sure you get more then one reliable fair opinion before ever having repairs done.
