I re-did my room this summer and I kinda made it like sorta vampireish. So I have black, red, and white on my bed. The rest of my room is like Victorian style. Stuff from the 1700's and stuff.

The thing is before I re-did my room it was pink. And now I kinda miss the pink in my room. It was just more happy. :) Don't get me wrong I like my new room it's just a little dark. I kinda want my pink room back. But my mom spent so much on this room. What should I do?!

Should I just stick it out and let this room grow on me?

Or should I switch back to my pink room? HELP!!

  1. Not as goth as you thought you were huh? : ) That's okay. Stick it out with the room color for a few months. Meantime swap out some of the accessories like pillows for white or lighter textured fabrics. Just bring in more white accessories like lampshades and rugs to make it cheerier. Visit art.com and allposters.com to bring some upbeat artwork for your walls. Make a padded bulletin board with a white fabric and red and black criss crossed ribbons. Put the artwork in white frames and use white for picture frames. The room will still be goth-like, just not morbidly so.

  2. is your bed the only place with color? what color are your walls?

do you have a pic by chance?

you can bring pink back into the room without changing everything out. mags are showing a lot of pink and red together and pink black & white has been a good combo forEVER.

  3. just take time to adapt,

if you miss the pink, put something pink or some other bright colour in, like a neon green lamp, to bring back the happy a bit, it may look weird with the colour scheme, but who cares? it's your room after all,

you just need to adjust, it's fine!

  4. Your room sounds classy and sophisticated. I can imagine that you are giong to love it as it grows on you and you become just as sophisticated as your room!!

  5. Add some little pink pieces like pink pillows on your bed. My best advice would be to try and remove the red from your room, as this is probably what makes it the most dark/depressing (blood themed). A black bed cover with pink pillows will be a great contrast, and have a girly "pop" to it. Since the rest of your room is Victorian, I would have the pink be a rosey colour, kind of washed out, so that it still works with the theme. Also, nice bright flowers always add a little spark to any dreary space!
