I Recently Decided I Want to be a writer for a magazine and wondering how to get on the right track...?

I'm a junior in high school and I really want to write articles for a snowboarding magazine like Transworld... I slacked off a lot my freshman and sophomore year but now that I know what i wanna do I'm TRYIN' ta get better grades... Just wondering what else i could do that would get me on the right track and look good on a college application... Thanks

  1. um you could try writing articles for your school newspaper?


  2. take the journalism classes in high school and at your local community college. and take summer school to make up for bad grades. it helped me. also take sentence structure and grammar classes at the community college

  3. Honestly, the quickest way is to start your own 'zine.  Self publishing is a lot of fun and many bigger publications pick these up looking for entry level writers and editors.
