I booked an international flight from jfk to rome to sofia with american airlines, but I am 14.THE TICKET IS ALREADY PURCHASED. On americanairlines.com it says that you need to be 15 older to travel alone internationally.

What should i do PLEASE HELP. Im leaving in 1 week.

  1. the most obvious thing has to be ask , why are you doing this without a parent,   You cant fly anywhere without their permission ,and why woudl they let you book a flight on your own, this is really their issue and they should be able to solve it, between them and the Credit card company.    Good luck


  2. They will not let you fly without paying the unaccompanied minor charge that the previous answer mentioned. You must also have someone with you when you check in and there must be someone meeting you at the final destination.

    Sorry, but there is no way around this...

  3. You can travel, but must purchase the Unaccompanied Minor service (for $100 extra fee).  Contact the reservations agent immediately to set it up.
