It all depends on how many places are being filled, how many are trying out for the position, the caliber of golfer ( how well each shoots ) and the fairness of the coach. Some coaches develop golfers, Others want championship teams and limit play only to the best.

Absolutely.  You'd make your high school team easily and could possibly be the #1 or #2 golfer on the team.

Depends on your school and how good the other players on the team are.  I do some short game coaching for my pal who is the Varsity Golf Coach at a large high school (5000 students) in Chicago Area.  His varsity players shoot 35 to 39 for a nine hole match.  But at a smaller school shooting low 80s is probably good enough to make the team.

Possibly, depending on the school and the caliber of players. Have you ever played tournamnet golf or only by yourself with a few friends? Tournament golf makes all the difference in the world. Having people in the gallery watching everything you do, knowing you have four other players depending on every shot you hit, having someone from another team watch every move you make. It is a lot different over just hacking it around with your buds.

Absolutely. Keep playing and you will get better. If you are already that good without playing on the team, think how good you will be practicing and competing with others on the team everyday. The only sure way to know is to tryout.

You should be able to. For my school, you can make the team if you can break 50 for 9 holes. Good luck

it depends on the school and skill level...if you have a Really Big school..it could be hard to get on with that but a possibility. But if you have a smaller school. then that should be fine. I go to a 3A school and i am on the Varsity Girls golf team and i actually just turned 16 as well and is shoot low 80s to mid 70s ..... and i have been playing for 2 years ... but i think that you should just go out and try it because you never know.. GOOD LUCK
