Okay, well, I have three Goldfish in a large tank. On Friday I noticed that one seems to be losing his scales. There are two white patches about as big as my little finger nail just above his gill and on his head, and beside his gill on his other side. I can see a few scales hanging off, but I'm not sure weather he is losing them, or if there is some sort of growth, although it looks more like the former. One of the other fish in the tank is quite big, but I don't think he is being bullied. I have had these fish all together for two years, and I have never witnessed any fighting between them. It does not seem to be affecting him, but I would really like to know what the cause is. These fish are my friends! :) Please help me.

  1. its evolving into another pokemon

  2. Separate that particular fish from the rest for a while and see if anything changes. If it doesn't I would look it up, and if it does it was probably being bullied.

  3. Gold fish usually loose scales during breeding season.  If your fish is loosing scales for no reason chances are it is due to a parasite called Myxosporidosis. The only treatment for this is to keep doing water changes and get rid of the parasites  You can try anti parasidic medicines but water changes are the main way to rid the tank.

Goldfish don't loose scales due to stress.  Look to see if you can see anything beneath the scales.  Are you sure he isn't flashing? or rubbin against objects?  More than likely if not from breeding, it is parasidic

  4. first collect the scales to examine them or have a doctor to

second lay them down so they arent overlapping but make it in the shape that they kind of fell off in then get some ******** DUCT TAPE AND TAPE EM BACK ON i did this to my pet frogs leg

  5. When gold fish get stressed they tend to shed.  Plus remember they are only gold fish.  Their life span is not very long.  Just make sure the tanl is cleaned and the ph level is right.  If you care that much...buy another tank and put him in with fish his size...he still might be getting bullied...it is not like you are watching them 24/7.

  6. Your fish has a disease called "ick" and will die if you do not get treatment.  See your local pet store for treatment options.

  7. ask ur local petstore

    goodluck

  8. It’s a common disease fish get, it’s actually a white fungus. You can get something to put in the water that’ll cure him.

  9. Not sure probably normal for A gold fish of that age to lose scales

or was being bullied. gold fish don't usually live too be that old however I had one that lived 8 years and you could literally see though it. You might call the pet store and see if it,s normal but I'm not sure if they could do anything about it if there was . Hope your friends OK
