  1. First off, the color comes from the grain used and not the yeast.

Anyway... unless you distilled it you made a distiller's beer..I'm assuming you didn't use hops otherwise you'd have beer. Because it is a beer-like substance it will be a beer-like brown color.

Now, if you did break the law and distill it... you messed up. It shouldn't be brown. It should have come out of the still as an flavorless clear liquid (moonshine). The brown in a whiskey comes from the oak aging process.

  2. there are all kinds of homemade. It is normal for some to be brown. hows it taste?

  3. It is OK.

To clear it, you have to filter it after distillation.

  4. We need more info.

I have been reading like a mad man lately about beer and alcohol and discovered a few things.

Yeast can cloud it a little but not brown more of a cloudy color of the liquid used. Meaning if red grapes then a cloudy red grape juice.

If it is beer (barley) as the Mayor Adam said, it produces color.

If it were fruit and u did not use an antioxidant such as sulfides then the fruit oxidized to brown. No harm to flavor it just looks weird.

That is all unless you have more info.
