Question:

I Think I Might Have a Computer Virus?

For some reason lately my computer has been running much slower than when I first got it. And I have PC-Cillin from Trend Micro and it says I don't have a any dangers, but recently I was searching the web and I accidentaly came across a website that was fake did that whole, "Your Computer is at Risk, installing Anti-Virus Software". I closed the website down almost instantly after opening it. But I still had a Virus. I removed it, but I still think there is a virus that Trend is not catching. My PC is running slower, and this was a VERY expensive computer and I don't have a back-up Vista disk as it did not come with one, and when I try to make my own with the Recovery Disk Creator, it always freezes.

So is there anything I can do to possibly see if there is one, WITHOUT downloading anything off the web. I have had bad experiances in the past with that.

Thanks for any help!!

  1. Without downloading? You're going to have a problem with that unless you're living here in the Philippines where you can get a whole lot of Anti-spyware and Antivirus softwares in shops that have key generators and crack files. You're gonna have to buy one somewhere somehow then. Your computer probably has viruses and spywares almost by the hundreds. You're going to need a full-version scanner for that.

Hmmmm, you can try opening the task manager via Ctrl + Alt + Delete and ending unwanted processes there manually then scanning the registry via running regedit then deleting unwanted registry files manually as well but you're going to need a whole lot of computer knowledge to do that without messing your computer up.

Then again, it might not even be a virus. Vista sucks, that's a plain and simple fact. It has a whole lot of glitches and I have a lot of friends who ended up changing their OS back to XP cos Vista is really very slow. If I were you I'd change my operating system back to XP and get AusLogics Boostspeed software. Haha.

    Hope my answer helps!
