I WANT A HAMSTER BUT MY MOM DOESNT WANT FOR ME TO HAVE A PEt!! WHAT TO DO??

i am an only child and i cry sometimes because i get lonely and its not fun being an only child sometimes i mean you mostly get what you want but overall i still feel lonely like i want a sister or brother little brother or sis or a dog but my apartment doesnt allow pets so i was wondering if i could get a small pet like a hamster soo im trying to convince my mom to let me get one i mean they are pretty cheap and since my apartment doesnt allow pets i am thinking it only means cats and dogs i was wondering if i could get a hamster

what can i do to have my mom let me buy one and i told her to ask the landlord just incase but she got madd and she said she doesnt want to get a pet cuz it might bite someone or something and if we get a pet we have to go to the vet

i mean come on im lonely besides my friends im the only one who is an only child and i hate it because i always look at my friends with their little bros and sis and i look at me who is by herself which makes me cry and i really want a pet what can i do?

Hamsters generally don't make good pets.  They don't like to be touched, and will not return your affection.  You'll be bored with it in less than a week.

There's not much you can do. I can say that you should not ask her so much that she gets irritated, because then she'll say no for sure. Explain the situation to your mom, about how you're lonely. Don't scream or cry or whine. If your mom still says no, then it's no. There's obviously a reason why she doesn't want you to have a pet. Pets are not for a few months, they need love for their whole lives and it's expensive to take care of any pet you get.

Also, if you're not allowed to have pets in your building then you shouldn't get one. You could get evicted.

And besides, having a sibling isn't that great XD

I would just tell her that hamsters, require little maintenance, and that they are in in sealed containers.

There is no way for them to accidentally get out.

Try that.

Plus explian to her why you want  apet, and that you are lonely

I Know How You Feel Im An Only Child To And It Does Get Really Lonely And Boring. Try Making A Deal With Your Mom Like If You Get Good Grades In School And Do All Your Chores Could You Have A Hamster...Thats What I Did And After A Couple Of Weeks Of Hard Work I Ended Up With A Pet And It Was Worth It.

This Is My Story...

I Remember When I was 6 Years Old I Finally Got Enough Courage To Ask My Mom For A Kitten.  She Said No.  Unexpectedly, A Couple Of Months Later She Turns Around And Lets Me Get A Puppy Instead!

A Couple Of Years Passed, And When I Was 14 I Anxiously Asked My Mom If I Could Get A Rabbit.  She Said No.  Believe It Or Not, A Few Weeks Later We Found Two Abandoned Kittens At A Local Car Wash! We Kept Them Both.  

Sadly, The Male Kitty Had Kidney Problems And We Had To Put Him To Sleep.  Our Family Decided To Get Another Kitten From The SPCA B/c We Were So Upset About Our Kitten Who Passed Away.

So Now, I'm 18 And I Have My 12 Yr. Old Dog Bandit (Got Him When I Was 6), My 4 Yr. Old Cat Black Jack (Got Her When I Was 14), And My 2 Yr. Old Cat T.J. (Got Him When I Was 16).

My Point To My Story Is That You Shouldn't Give Up Asking B/c She Might Surprise You One Day!  

Tell Her That A Hamster Is Very Simple And Small Pet To Take Care Of Unlike A Dog Or Cat.  Also, I Don't Believe  Hamsters Ever Purposely Mean To Bite People Either.

I Don't Know What It's Like Being An Only Child But I've Heard It Can Be Boring Sometimes.

Tell her that you have the time and the motivation to look after this hamster and that if its in you room then she won't even notice. Also maybe if you bought some stuff like food and bedding she'll think that you really do want and you preparedvto do it.
