I WHITE a color or a shade or not even a color??

First I had a question that asked if WHITE was a color. Some people said it was a absence of color, it was a shade. I just want to no what you think.

  1. White is the equal and coincident stimulation of the red green and blue cone cells in the retina.  This effect can be produced by many light combinations.


  2. White is the combination of all the colors of the visible light spectrum. White is technically achromatic, and not a color, since it has no hue.

  3. white is actually not a color. if you go to ask.com and search "is white a color?" it will have some really great sites for you to visit.

  5. I don't THINK, I KNOW, In Art Major classes, White & Black are not considered a 'color' ....they are considered/called "Neutrals".

  6. The fact that you can see it makes it a color. So there you have it its a color.

  7. White is not a colour.  It is the combination of all colours.  Black is void of colour.
