  1. Hi Amanda.  My boyfriend and I are a bunny owner and we just love him!  He is NOT high maintenance, and I do not think any bunny is.  We clean his cage every other day, and that takes 5 minutes, feed and water him and that's really it.  Some hard chew toys are good for them that way they can kind of file their teeth down.  When we get  home, we let him out of his cage so he can run around the bedroom and get some exorcise.  They should get at least 4 hours a day so try to put him in a room that he can be let out of so he is not sitting in his cage all day long.  We absolutely LOVE out bunny (his name is Spuff) and I think he's even less maintenance than a dog or cat.  When we first brought him home, he was scared and frightened, but then he realized we wont hurt him and warmed right up to us.  He does not like to be picked up, but that's ok, once they know you wont hurt them they are so sweet.

  2. hello there

these are the only advises i can give you to have a good, healthy rabbit:

♦adopt from the shelter.this is better off rather than the ones in the pet shop.you can save a life from adopting a rabbit from the shelter.

♦neuter the rabbit as soon as you get him/her.this will make your rabbit live longer as well as this will prevent cancer.(yes, rabbits develop cancer when they reach maturity).

♦if you already bought one, remember not to feed it any iceberg lettuce.this will cause a bad diarrhea to the rabbit.

♦do not place the rabbit in the basement or in the garage.this is not hygienic for the rabbit.

♦no bathing of the rabbit.rabbits clean themselves everyday and a bathe is no longer needed.they take time to warm up after getting wet so they catch cold very easily

♦if you have 2 rabbits and both are not neutered, buy them separate cages as they may fight when placed on the same cage.

♦diet is simple:feed them timothy hay every time.1/4 cups of pellets each meal and vegetables once a day.

♦keep them inside.do not keep them outside.outside keeping shortens the rabbit's life span by 5 years old.

♦remember:a rabbit's life span is mainly up to 10 years.but 20 years is the maximum life span.

    best wishes to you.happy owning!

  3. Yes I have had my bun bun for about 4 1/2 years and I just love him. You need to make a decision if he will indoors or outdoors. If he is indoors make sure you have a cage that is at least 5 times bigger then the rabbit. You can litterbox train your bun as well. My does very well with this and has no accidents. go to houserabbitsociety.com and get as much info as you can. Rabbits need a lot of care. They need to have their nails trimmed regularly and their teeth checked. Make sure you have plenty of Timothy hay for  it to eat and also rabbit pellets with alfalfa in it. You can give your bunny treats once in a while. My bun loves crasins. Never give your bunny cabbage this can kill them. Also bunny proof his play area No electrical cords because he will chew them.  Google rabbit care and you will find many websites that will give you good info on caring for and training your bun. Have fun rabbits are cool pets.

  6. Hi im getting my third bunny today so i know pretty much everything. The best thing to do when you first get them is to cuddle them and give them a whole heap of attention. They do need yearly injections and it would be best to keep him inside for the first few weeks. Eating the grass outside won't be good for him untill he has had the injection because he/she might catch a disease. My rabbits have always loved parsly and you should give them vegetables on a daily basis. The best ones are:

    - corn on the cob (raw)

    - carrots

    parsly

    - coliflower leaves

    - brocoli

DO NOT GIVE THEM LETTUCE OR AVACADO STONES. THIS CAN BE FATEL!!!!!!!!

For treats give them fruits like apple. The best diet for a rabbit is a small amount of rabbit pellets and then a cup of fresh vegetables each day. You will need to go to the pet shop and buy some grass/hay and your rabbit should always have access to fresh water and grass.

    hope this helps

  7. Rabbits are a high maintanence pet so be prepared.  I don't know how old you are but they are more for adults and teenagers who will be responsible for caring for them.  Their personalities are all different so you might get one that likes to cuddle, but then again you might get one totally different.  They like to chew so provide them with treats and safe things to chew on.  Also, get them spayed or neutered, please.  They can be alot of fun.  Good luck!

  8. Some rabbits are harder then other rabbits to care for. The larger breeds of rabbits are usually alot friendlier and like to be cuddled while the small rabbits usuallt like to keep to themselves or other rabbits. Spaying/neuteuring is highly recommended as males will spray smelly pee everywhere and p**p alot and everywhere making them nearly impossible to litter train. Females can become aggresive and p**p alot and everywhere too if not spayed and has an 80% chance of dying from uterine cancer. If they have a large place to run around, a proper diet of hay, food and veg, a clean cage and are spayed/neuteured then you have a happy healthy bunny. Here is my site

It's not quite finished but all the good info is there
