  1. First ... Plan your story - think about if you wanna make a series or if it is just a one day. Remember - always get the story correct

Second ... Start reading other people's work

Third ... Write. Start with talking about the weather, talking about the person, but don't get straight into the story. Explain.

Penultimately ... Analyse and edit your work. It is vital to check and improve.

Lastly ... Find a good publisher and agent - i advise you use Christopher Little Literacy Agents

    Good Luck!

  2. Firstly  make sure that you have a good, original storyline. Make sure to use plenty of metaphors, similies, personification and onomatopoeia. Look these up if you don't know what they are.

For me, the best page must be the first one. If the reader doesn't like the first page they won't read any more.

Once you have written your book, give it to a few people so they can read over it and give you their feedback. Edit it to make it better.

Find a good book publisher on the internet and look at the section on how to get your story published- every publisher is different. Carry on from there.

    Good luck x*x

  3. Well, I'm only 17 but I've bn writing thru most of high school and now i'm goin to college to major in english/journalism. As for publishing, get on the net and find a publishing company, then mail in your manuscript.

When i start a story, i usually just begin with just a general idea of where i want the story to go and only think about the main characters. As I write, new characters and turning points tend to present themselves and it's almost as i'm living it as i write it!! some ppl prefer to sit down and plan out evry character and plot point, but i prefer to surprise myself sometimes .. . it makes more enjoyable to read and to write in my opinion.. :) hope this helped!

  5. 1. make sure there's a basic start middle and end

    2. when you go to the toilet with you take a dictionary and learn a new word each time, this will expand your vocabulary

    3. a good book always thinks outside the box, have a twist a good plot a page turning story

    4. let your mind run free the imagination is the start of every product

  6. The most important thing to do is START!

Don't expect it to be a work of genius the first time you write it down, but don't worry, you will go back and tweak, and change, and alter a bit here, and that bit there. Thats the delight of the process.

For a first time novelist to be published, they need to have a finished manuscript, so just crack on and get that done. Dont worry about publishing right now.

    Enjoy, and Good luck!!

  7. Once upon a time.......................................

  8. write it first and then worry about publishing

  9. Chapter One

  10. Already with the story basis ?  Great !! The next step, and the only one you really need now is just to start your book ... sit down and start writing, doesn't matter if somehow many ideas do not match, keep writing and writing, you'll have plenty of time to edit it later ...

Here are some little hints about self-publishing:

Effective marketing is a vast field. It includes using marketing tools such as:

    • Direct mail

    • Space and classified ads

    • Signs

    • Radio and TV commercials

    • Business involvement and more

In fact, the approaches you can take and your imagination and resources only limit the methods you use. There are basic rules that do not change, however. They are as follows:

    1. You must get a prospect's ATTENTION. Your headline is the most important part of an advertisement.

    2. You must create reader INTEREST. Your ad should be built around an idea that offers value.

    3. You must arouse the reader's DESIRE. By focusing on all the benefits they will receive.

    4. Your ad must move them to ACT. Tell your readers exactly what it is you want them to do.

In order to avoid making careless advertising decisions that can cost you money, it is important that you understand and participate in your own strategies. That means getting involved and researching what strategy will produce sound advertising.  It is essential that you have a plan before you take action on developing and advertising strategy. Your plan must be based on an objective analysis that has resulted from your knowledge and research.

On the other hand, emotions are what move people to buy anything. Therefore, the job of your product and advertisement vehicle is to move your prospect to buy. You have to stir enough emotions, not only to cause desire, but the rationalization that provides an excuse based on logic.  Even after a prospect makes a commitment to buy your book, report, etc., they may think they have acted logically. None of your customers will ever admit that emotions had anything to do with their purchase. What you must always be aware of, however, is that logic probably had little to do with a buyer's decision. That is because human actions are often caused by instincts and compulsions that most buyers are unaware of.

You become a "self-publisher" by taking your material (book, manual, report, newsletter, etc.) and bypassing all the middlemen. You can by-pass the middlemen by going directly to a printer and take on the task of handling all the marketing and distribution of the product yourself. As a self-publisher you invest your talent, time, energy and money.  It doesn't matter what your background is, you can learn to master the type of advertising that is needed to launch a self-publishing business.  Through research and careful planning you can become familiar with the writing skills you will need to create effective adds. Obtain all the information you can from the masters in the business. Read and study every book, manual, report, newsletter, ad, article, and publication you can get your hands on that will help you in developing your own successful strategies and techniques.

Well, tips and hints about publishing, trading, etc, are everywhere, you just have to spend some time and do a little research ...

Ironically, you must read to write ... however, what is harder in this, is nothing of the above, but to get well organized and make the time for your book.  There's always an excuse to postpone it for tomorrow ... so, the best advice I can give you is just ... sit down and write ... NOW !!

    Good luck !!
